One hundred years ago, aviation pioneers proved airplane's capabilities for shipboard operations in San Diego, CA. Accomplishments such as the first successful hydroaeroplane flight by Glenn H. Curtiss in San Diego bay showed the world that aviation could go to sea. With the rich history that the "Birthplace of Naval Aviation" holds, it is only fitting we kick-off the year-long celebration commemorating Naval Aviation's 100th year in San Diego, CA.
